Small Business Achievement Thinking Through One More Try November 16, 2008

To achieve more, simply try more. Just try once more. Business is tough and sometimes we are frustrated. Your competition is always ready to take business from you. You can prevent it. By creating an attitude of ‘just one more try’ in your office place, you are on the path to growing your small business.

I am a results oriented performer and I am excited to surround myself with equally motivated people. These effective people embrace the idea of trying just once more. Let me provide you a real world example. A short time ago I sent an email to some of the trusted professionals in my network seeking an assistant for some basic office work.

We received several replies. Did I review all of the information comprehensively to make a decision? No. I skimmed their information very quickly and asked all of them to get back to us in one week. Why, did I do this? I was testing their one-more-try attitude. In this simple test I am checking to see who is responsible enough, focused enough, and organized enough to try once more. Out of five applicants, nobody followed up with my office.

Sometimes all it takes is just one more try. In this case, a simple phone call, or email would have made this person the more qualified candidate. They just had to try once more.

Work to instill and inspire a spirit of one-more-try in your office. The one-more-try strategy is a great way to grow your small business.
